I FOUND BACK SOME OLD FOOTAGE OF ME AND I LOOKED...

3 years ago the Dutch Show Company (including me) was part of a TV show sequence of Dit is Helmond. We closed each television show with a song.
So we got into the recording place. A gym, no studio. Oh, ok. It was a bit cold inside. A green curtain marked the spot where we could stand. No big decor or anything. TV ain’t all sunshine and roses, people

There was a big television camera there (obviously). Anyway, we filmed all the songs and one of the songs was my solo. So I stood there, and the camera was faced upon me. Camera ready? Sound ready? Action.
I remembered my Camera Acting Training way back when. I was so nervous back then. That camera thing suddenly was very big and very close! I looked like a deer in headlights

For me, that thing represented the whole world watching. OMG! I can’t make mistakes or I’ll be boo-ed off in front of the whole world! Nooooo! Sounds familiar ?
And now, looking back at that footage, I saw how relaxed I looked. Like talking to a person directly in the audience. “The camera is your friend”, they said back then. Well yes, that’s what you want, but you need to take a few confidence steps before you’re able to see and act that way.
Anyway, these are 2 photo’s of the solo song I did, looking goofy on television. Yes, I did that

and the whole world got to see it. It’s on YouTube. Forever

If you want to, you can grow
